Sports Information By Season

The letter below and the calendar contain important information for the 2016-2017 school year as it relates to interscholastic athletics. Be sure to open both.

The following information is updated each June and e-mailed in July to all incoming students of grades 7th -12th.  This information is a breakdown of all sports offered in grades 7 through 12 by season, try out dates, and all parent preseason athletic meeting dates.

This is important information regarding the requirements for a student to play sports for the upcoming school year. In order to be eligible for tryouts for any team in any season, please adhere to the following:

  • A parent or guardian must attend a “Parent Preseason Athletic Meeting”.
You will only need to attend this meeting once for the school year but it must be prior to tryouts for the first season your child is interested in participating. Please see meeting dates listed on the "All Sports by Season" and "2016-2017 Important Dates" links above. These dates are also listed on the web site calendars for the Junior and Senior High Schools.

  • A current physical must be on record in the building health office.
Physicals are valid for one year and expire on the last day of that month. For example, a physical dated Aug. 2, 2012 is valid through Aug. 31, 2013. A high school student will be able to participate in a fall sport but must have an updated physical to participate in the winter or spring.

  • A permission slip must be signed and returned to the health office within 30 days of the start of the season. Please refer to the chart for deadline dates.

  • A health history update must be on record with the health office within 30 days of the start of the season. Please refer to the chart for deadline dates.

All forms are available at the Athletic Office, Junior and Senior High School Health Offices and on line at the district web page www.wbschools.org under the Athletics tab.
